Interior Grade Particleboards
Particleboards or ‘Chipboards’ are panel products that are engineered from wood. Specific sized wood-chips are used in making the board, bound by synthetic resin pressed under heat and pressure. The boards produced are denser and more uniform in their constitution as compared to plywood or general wood.

APPLICATION
Plain particleboards are used for a variety of applications like interior fixtures, furniture, partitions, false-ceiling, doors, construction related use and industrial applications like circuit boards, speaker boxes, enclosure material, etc.
Particleboards are most often used for lamination with materials like melamine films, lacquer films, finished foils, decorative laminates, paint, wood veneers, PVC / PET films, acrylic films / sheets, etc. in order to give them a better look & feel.
WHY ASSOCIATE PARTICLEBOARDS
Associate Particleboards are the most advanced engineered particleboards in the world. Produced using the world’s best continuous press technology from Dieffenbacher Germany, each board also undergoes stringent testing and quality control norms. Besides this, Associate Particleboards also show the following qualities:
- Three layered boards, made on the I-Beam principle, giving it solid strength and flexibility
- 100% consistency and dimensional stability
- High density core material and high load bearing capacity
- Light coloured surface, ideal for painting & lamination
- Latex free, with virtually no foreign particles (thereby offering longer tool life) and can be processed cleanly without chipping
- High internal bond strength
- Kiss coated for smooth surface
- Available in a wide range of sizes (9×6, 8×6, 7×6, 9×4, 8×4, 7×4, 9×3, 8×3, 7×3)
- Available in multiple thicknesses from 6 mm to 40 mm
PARTICLEBOARDS – PRODUCT VARIANTS
Associate Particleboards are available in a range of functional variants, based on the applications they are specifically produced for. These variants satisfy international standards of quality and performance, and are ideally suited for a wide range of applications. The list of variants is as follows:
Interior Grade Particleboards
Associate Interior Grade Particleboards are made specifically for use in interior applications like furniture, interior fixtures like shelves, wall units, etc. These boards meet international standards of quality and safety, as per EN 312, type P II, E2 and Indian standards IS 3087, grade II.
Available in a wide range of sizes (9×6, 8×6, 7×6, 9×4, 8×4, 7×4, 9×3, 8×3, 7×3)
Available in multiple thicknesses from 6 mm to 40 mm.
Exterior Grade Particleboards
The Exterior Grade series is a highly durable and strong range of particleboards by Associate. It is resistant to boiling water and cyclic changes in weather. These boards are superior to any of the other exterior grade particleboards produced in the country. The special property of the boiling water test of our boards is specified in DIN 68763 as V – 100 Test.
It is also given in IS -3087 for grade-1 boards. The tensile strength of our boards is checked after boiling the board sample in water for 2 hrs against the standard value of 0.15 N /mm². Our board attains a value of 0.20 N /mm².
Available in a wide range of sizes (9×6, 8×6, 7×6, 9×4, 8×4, 7×4, 9×3, 8×3, 7×3)
Available in multiple thicknesses from 6 mm to 40 mm.
HMR Grade Particleboards
The High Moisture Resistant Series of plain and pre-laminated particleboards from Associate are ideal for use in humid conditions Type P7 as per EN 312. Our HMR boards have great values of bending strength, modulus of elasticity and thickness swelling for 24 hrs. against 2 hrs. as specified in IS 3087 apart from meeting the highest standards for general mechanical and physical properties. This board passes the Australian HMR grade specifications, which are much more demanding and stringent than the other international standards. The High Moisture Resistant Grade range of Particleboards is ideal for use in humid conditions. These high-strength boards are ideal for applications in areas such as kitchens, bathrooms and outdoor furniture’s.
Fire-Retardant Grade Particleboards
The Fire Retardant Series of particleboards from Associate passes the most rigorous tests of ignitability, combustibility, spread of flame and fire propagation as per industry standards. Our boards achieve a Class II surface spread of flame as per BS-476 part 7 and a Class I as per BS – 476 for fire-propagation.
Available in a wide range of sizes (9×6, 8×6, 7×6, 9×4, 8×4, 7×4, 9×3, 8×3, 7×3)
Available in multiple thicknesses from 6 mm to 40 mm.
Eco-Variants
Green Grade ParticleboardsThe Green particleboards from Associate are a technological marvel and Mother Nature’s delight. These boards are manufactured totally free from urea formaldehyde and made exclusively from pure melamine and other specific resins. They are produced to the highest global standards and have properties that pass the requirements of IS 3087 Grade I and Grade II. The boards are “green” even during the manufacturing process as 95% of the material used can be recycled by passing through a secondary chipping line. These boards are ideal for all “Green Building” applications.
E0 Grade Particleboards
E0 particleboards from Associate when tested with the perforator method, give results where the free formaldehyde in the particleboard shall be less than 5 mg per 100 gm of oven dry boards tested as per the requirements of IS 13745 for formaldehyde emission and passes the requirements of IS 3087 Grade I and Grade II as well as EN 120. This range of boards surpasses pre-requisites of most international furniture and real estate companies for their eco-friendly standards.
E1 Grade Particleboards
E1 particleboards from Associate pass the requirements of IS 3087 Grade I and Grade II as well as EN 120 having formaldehyde content of less than 8 mg per 100 gm of oven dry boards tested as per IS 13745. These boards fulfill stringent norms of bending strength, screw-withdrawal strength and modulus of elasticity allowing manufacturers tremendous flexibility in creation of furniture and allied products.
